Development of the ALWAYS System, incorporating two models: simulation model - allowing analysis of the water supply capacity installed in the system, according to different hydrological scenarios, and their energy costs - optimization model - allowing optimization of the management of the periods in which water volumes are transferred from the Alqueva reservoir to different storage structures, as well as defining the periods of pumping and hydropower production, throughout the year, depending on the water needs of the various existing irrigation perimeters.
